Life After The WTO Honeymoon: Theory and Practice


As legal texts, the Agreement and Protocol which will form the basis for China’s accession to the World Trade Organization later this year, will be commendable.The United States bilateral negotiations with China, concluded on November 15, outdid most business-peoples’ expectations. For the first time, China has agreed to lay down in black and white trade principles and market opening schedules that are characteristic of an open economy. But will the deal stick?
